The source photo has more influence on an AI action figure than a long prompt. A clean input gives the model reliable information about identity, clothing, and proportions before the packaging style is applied.
Prioritize a visible face
Choose an image where both eyes and the overall face shape are easy to see. Glasses, hats, facial hair, and distinctive hairstyles can be useful identity cues, so keep them visible when they are part of the person’s everyday look.
For pets, look for a photo that clearly shows the eyes, ears, muzzle, coat pattern, and tail shape. These details are often more recognizable than the background or pose.
Use soft, even light
Window light or outdoor shade is ideal. Strong backlighting can turn the face into a silhouette, while direct midday sun may create deep shadows. A slightly imperfect but evenly lit phone photo is usually more useful than a dramatic image with missing facial detail.
Keep the subject large enough
The person or pet should occupy a meaningful part of the frame. If the subject is a tiny figure in a landscape, crop before uploading or choose a closer image. At the same time, avoid extreme close-ups when you want a full-body toy.
Simplify the background
A plain background is helpful but not required. What matters is separation: the outline of the subject should be distinct from the surroundings. Similar clothing and background colors can make arms, hair, or a pet’s body harder to identify.
Match the crop to the goal
